Psalm 44
Psalm 44
This psalm was written following Israel's loss to an enemy.
Verses 1-8 tell of God's past mercies. In verse 9 it seems as though God has forsaken His people and left them to suffer. Verses 17-22 declare the innocence of the people in regard to their covenant with God.Verses 23-26 are prayers for deliverance.
Sometimes our suffering is not due to sin in our life, but because of our obedience to God. Remember how Jesus, Paul, and all the disciples suffered. We don't have the whole picture so we cannot know entirely why we suffer. But we do know it is in God's perfect plan.
Things to Remember
1. In difficult times we do not have the whole picture.
2. In difficult times God is working
3. In difficult times remember God is faithful.
4. In difficult times remember that all that God allows in our life is intended for good.
5. In difficult times remember that nothing can separate us from the love of God. (Romans 8:38)
